Unable to Import PowerPoint Slides to Storyline 360 after 11/7 Update

Nov 09, 2023

Hi. I installed the latest Storyline 360 update November 7, 2023 (Build 3.81.31200.0). I attempted to import slides from a PowerPoint into a blank storyline file and Articulate essentially crashed. It was half installed half uninstalled. I couldn't open any Stoyline files and the Desktop Apps were gone from my computer. I had to use a Microsoft Troubleshooter to fully uninstall the desktop apps and then reinstall the Desktop Apps. I again to import slides from a PowerPoint into a blank storyline file and the same thing happened.

I then attempted to roll back to a prior version of Storyline, but none of those versions will install. I get error code 1 (unknown error) when trying to install any of the prior versions available.

I use Windows 11 Pro and it's up to date. I'm at a loss for what to do because I need to import those slides.

Hi Abbey,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.

If rolling back to previous versions isn't working for you, I'd recommend doing a clean install of Articulate 360 instead. Please follow these steps to remove all Articulate 360 files and registry keys from your computer, so we can start completely fresh:

1) Close the Articulate 360 desktop app by right-clicking the Articulate icon in your computer's system tray (by the clock) and choosing "Quit."

2) Go to your Control Panel and uninstall all Articulate 360 apps, including the Articulate 360 desktop app, Peek 360, Replay 360, Storyline 360, and Studio 360.

3) Download and extract this zip file on your computer: http://articulate-360-kb.s3.amazonaws.com/360cleanup.zip

4) Right-click the 360cleanup.bat file and choose "Run as administrator." The script should only take a few seconds to remove all the Articulate files and registry keys from your computer.

5) Reboot your computer.

6) Download the latest Articulate 360 desktop app here: https://360.articulate.com/downloads

7) Right-click the articulate-360.exe file and choose "Run as administrator."

8) Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app and click "Install" beside each authoring app you want to install.

9) Reboot your computer and test your Articulate apps.
