Use the Tab key after typing text and numbers in data fields
Apr 30, 2021
I need learners to use the Tab key after typing text and numbers in data fields without the yellow border appearing on slide objects, slide borders, and the video player. As I am sure you realize, using the Tab key is a common way of navigating most software applications these days. Pressing the Enter key, however, usually submits user data.
I have tried previous work arounds suggested in the forum. Some date back more than 8 years ago. Unfortunately, I have not found a clear solution.
Since we are unable to completely disable accessibility features, is there any reason why Articulate has not introduced a lesser used key (not Tab) for this function? I think that would be an easy fix for them and likely retain customers and create new ones.
Any suggestions on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Tab and arrow keys are the standard keys for accessibility in web browsers, as accessibility is a key thing for users I doubt you will be able to switch the function off.
Thanks for your response Phil. It's unfortunate that accessibility can't be switched off, at least for individual slides.
I'm curious why developers can utilize the Tab key in Adobe Captivate without issue, yet Articulate has not created a similar feature.
