User Restriction with Message

Jul 16, 2013

Hi

I am trying to recreate the functionality as given in the attachment. Notice the message popping out when you haven't clicked all the buttons.

I exactly need this functionality and I have about 7 buttons in some pages.

Can someone tell me how to do this step-by-step procedure? Or, link to me a screenr if available.

I really need step-by-step procedure, because I am new to the tool and I don't understand jargons.

If you have alternatives to achieve this, please let me know. I will be happy to learn.

Looking forward for your help.

Regards

Sam

Hi Sam! From the file that you have attached:

Click slide 1.3 and look to the right in the trigger panel.  You can see that there has been a layer set up with variables (in this case the 4 boxes) that must be selected or the Unfinished Alert is going to display.

If you look below the triggers section to the slide layers section, you can actually click on each one of those features to 'see' what they are doing and check the properties on each.

Having an already completed project like this that you can dissect to understand how it works is a wonderful learning opportunity.

There is also a tutorial here that can get you started and much more listed to the right when you get on that webpage.  I'm sure this is plenty to get you going.

If you are working on your own project and would like help and/or feedback, be sure to post it here in the forums.

Thanks so much and have a great day!

Hey Leslie- I understood the logic now.

I referred:

How do you set the same functionality if I want the learner to listen to the entire audio for each layer or each marker in this case and only then the next slide should be enabled. This is to ensure that the learner is able to listen to each and every layer or marker before moving ahead to the next slide.

In the link given doesn't work (logic), if audio is tagged to each layer.

Pls help!

Hi Sam! Okay, thanks for the update on this.  Would restricting the navigation via ideas in this article be what you are looking for? Or, you may find some of the various user solutions in this thread will help you out. I do believe that True/False variable for the media is just what you are looking for. Hope you have a great day!
