Users getting stuck because of Issues with slides and layers

May 02, 2020

Hi I have an issue with users getting stuck on slides with layers.    I have a slide with layers.  The base layer has audio and each of the other layers has audio.  If the user does not let the base layer play till the end and instead clicks a button to visit one of the layers, the next button is locked and the user can not advance.

Bret,

If you are happy with users not listening to all the audio on the base layer before proceeding, you should add another trigger that enables the Next button if all layers have been visited.

If, on the other hand, you want all the audio listened to (makes sense if you added it in the first place), then you should disable all the buttons/links to the other layers until the base layer audio is complete. That way, the user is forced to listen to the full audio before proceeding to the next layer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I guess that makes sense.  It was most concerning because people are getting stuck.  I put a release trigger for the next button on the last layer but it gets superseded by the timeline not completing on the base layer.  I guess I'm going to hide the buttons to trigger the layers till the timeline is on its last frame.  It just seems to me that this would be a bigger issue and maybe someone had run into it before.  Thanks for the response thought.
