Using the TextEntry for creating simulation

Dec 18, 2020

Hey Team,

I am using Storyline for creating Simulation for one of my Project.

I created the slide and it have number of layers as per the steps. While performing the steps, user need to type the text in some fields and press enter to go next step.

I used the TextEntry so that user can type in particular text in that field for that step. But when I published the project and enrolled into LMS, it's not working correctly.

When the user type in some text in TextEntry field and when user get fail for that question, user gets retry option on last slide, which start the simulationn from beginning. But while trying more that once for same question, when user visit the same layer where the TextEntry field is positioned, and when user click on the TextEntry field to type, the last entry text is showing in dropdown below the TextEntry field. Which is not required or advisable.

I am using the trigger on the Base Slide only that, Set the TextEntry field to Blank when timeline starts..........

Please guide me on this issue as I tried  multiple ways to do so, but not succeed.

Attached is screenshot of the problem

Hello Mahesh!

I'm happy to help! It sounds like you might need to change the Resume Behavior to Resume Saved State. This is what it looks like in Storyline 360: Link

If you're still running into this issue, would you mind sharing the .story file? You can either attach it to this discussion using the Add Attachment button or upload it privately using this secure upload link. Either way, we'll take a look and work towards finding a solution!
