Variable Question
Aug 20, 2013
Hi everyone! I'm trying to change the state of a shape being used for navigation. I'd like for the state to change from hidden to normal once the user has clicked on 3 other shapes on the screen. Because they could select the shapes in any order, I thought using variables would be the way to go, but I can't get it to work. :(
Any ideas? I've attached what I'm working on if it helps illustrate the point.
Thanks!

You could use the visited state of the three text boxes to 'enable' the Next button, as in the attached. I added a slide trigger that changes the state of the Next icon to 'Normal' once all three text boxes are in "Visited' state. Hope that helps.
Nikki,
This is almost the same as my reply to your other post, but with a couple changes. First, add a true/false variable for each sign each with an initial value of false. Adjust the variables to true at the beginning of each of the sign layers (when timeline starts). Then add a second trigger, also set at the beginning of the sign layer timelines to adjusts the next button state to normal with the condition that all 3 variables are a value of true. Just make sure the state change is the second trigger listed. You will also want to make sure you choose the next icon from the base layer since the ones on each sign layer have the same object.
I've attached your sample with the changes.
Guess you were taken care of here as well Nikki!
Thanks Michael and Josh
