Video from Website

May 27, 2014

I have inserted a video from a website into my course.  I would like to be able to remove the next button until the video is complete.  However since it is from a website my timeline only shows about 20 seconds.  Is there an easier way than moving the timeline out 50 minutes to ensure that my participants view the entire video before proceeding?

Thanks,

There  are a couple of ways of achieving this, if you are using custom navigation you can set the initial button state to disabled and then have a trigger to change state of button to normal when media completes. Or if you're using standard navigation, you can remove the next button and trigger the slide to advance when the media completes.

Hope that solves your problem.

Hi Diona and welcome to Heroes!

As Alex mentioned, if the video is embedded from the website the triggers for media controls won't work. If you know how long the video is, you could add an off stage object and place it later on the timeline and set up a condition to your next trigger, to go to the next slide but only based on when the objects timeline starts/ends or if you used a change state for the object as well (maybe an arrow on the slide indicating when the user can click on the next button). A similar scenario is described here.
