Video not working on iPad

I'm trying to run a Storyline video on the iPad and it doesn't work. Static screens with audio work but the video only shows the first screen without any cursor movement, audio, or playbar. The files are stored on Sharepoint.
I can run videos from Camtasia, Captivate, and Demobuilder on the iPad.
I know this problem has been addressed on the forum but the solutions do not work for me.
I'm new to Storyline, but not to Articulate Studio.
Does anyone have a solution with clear step by step instructions?
Thank you.
Peter

Hi Peter,
What type of videos are you using withing your Storyline course? For example, if you're using YouTube videos you'll want to follow the directions here to insert them as a web object.
Additionally, there is a known issue where only one audio or video file will play at a time within the HTML5 output, this limitation could also affect your screen recordings if they include audio and your using iOS5. If you're able to, you'll want to update to iOS6 and ensure your using update 4 of Storyline.
Hi Ashley,
I have the latest version of Storyline and the latest version of iOS on the iPad and the screen recording with both audio and video do not work.
Until this Articulate can enable Storyline to support the iPad I will use Captivate or Camtasia.

My solution has to been to simply avoid embedding video in presentations built for iPad consumption. I flag those in the lesson menu as viewable only an iPad. Others that contain video are flagged for conventional laptop/desktop only.
Hi Peter,
Our team is always looking at ways to improve the HTML5 content, but in regards to the issue of screen recordings, it's a limitation of the HTML5 content not being able to play an audio file and video file at the same time. If you're able to use the mobile player, you can play multiple media resources at one time.
I am having the same issue (everything is up-to-date). I am simply trying to insert a screen recording into the slide and it won't load on my iPad browser or in the articulate application?
Hi Nicky,
It looks like this was originally posted right before update 5 was released. Can you confirm this is the version you're running?
Articulate Storyline Update 5 includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and HTML5 output enhancements. Click here for details.
It sounds like you've tested in both HTML5 and Flash (the Articulate Mobile Player).
Can you tell us what type of screen recording you've inserted, please? Did you record this within Storyline? Also, is it a step-by-step or single video recording?
It may also help to try testing the course on another server:
Please let us know how it goes!

Not certain if embedded video issue on iPad has got a solution yet.
I am using the very updated version of articulate storyline, however, I can't get the embedded video to play on iPad
Tried adding video as web object, still not working.
Any thoughts please?
Cheers
Hi Tiffan and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
You did not mention whether you were viewing the content in the Articulate Mobile Player app or via HTML5 mobile browser.
You may want to check out this document to understand how different elements perform.
Please note, only one media can play at a time in the browser and the user may need to tap the video to begin play.
Today I embedded a YouTube video. The result is: It plays fine on my laptop but not on my iPad with the Articulate mobile app. Is there a fix to this problem after all these months?
Hi Tim!
Did you add the videos as a web object as this article explains?
Hi Leslie,
Thank you for pointing me to that article. I read it and understood the limitation in regard to the issue on iPad.
So I tried adding the YouTube video as a web object, but I found two problems with that approach.
1. While the video now play on iPad with the Articulate mobile app, it does not play on my laptop! That's the reverse of the problem I had with the embedding method.
2. While the video now plays on iPad with Articulate mobile app, the slide shows the entire YouTube webpage, which is way too distracting.
I know I can just insert an mp4 video on a slide, but the problems with that are 1) it increases the load time of the lesson, and 2) some of the videos I want to show in my lesson aren't mine so I don't want to "host" them on my website.
So at the moment, this technical issue is preventing me from using video as part of my e-learning content. I guess I will just do with videos.
Sorry to hear that you still ran into difficulty Tim. If you need us to take a look at the .story file, please share.
