I have a Storyline project that I have published to our company's shared drive. Everything works fine from here - the videos, the quizzes, the content.
However, what I would like to do is put a Word document on our intranet that links to the story files on the shared drive. I thought that this was working perfectly, until I tested one of the links and the videos do not play. Everything else seems to be working fine through the link.
What is causing this, and is there a work-around I can use?
Update: Even when the intranet is not involved (i.e. I create a document on the shared drive that hyperlinks to the story files), the videos/screencasts will not work.
When working with Storyline and corresponding files, you'll want to work on the local drive, not a shared drive. Additionally, to test your Storyline content you'll want to publish locally and then place the published version within the intended environment as if you're testing locally you may encounter local security restrictions that could cause your content to fail.
