Web Object / Video from Web exceeding player size

Aug 27, 2014

For about 1% of our end users, our web video exceeds the limits of the storyline "story size". The video was designed to take up the entire story size, but for those that it exceeds the limit, it covers up the Prev/Next buttons.

And because, we've prevented them from skipping around the lesson through the menu, they can't move on to the next slide.

Any suggestions? I've tried multiple version of the video embed code. I've also tried putting the embed code in a webpage, and sticking that webpage in a web object, but same result.

FYI, the video is played through Kaltura.

Thanks for any help!

Hello Kevin!

Since this is only a small portion of users, do you know if this is occurring in one particular web browser, or in multiple ones, and do you know what version of Flash player they are using?

Some player elements open behind inserted web objects. This can happen with the volume slider and any drop-down menus you've added to the top left or top right of the player, such as menu, resources, glossary, or custom tabs.

This also affects videos inserted from websites(Screenr, Vimeo, Google videos, etc) and imported Engage interactions since these are also treated as web objects. (One notable exception is YouTube videos inserted via Video from Website since they are wrapped in a Flash control, so they won't experience this issue.)

Unfortunately this is a known issue, and there is currently no workaround. When additional information becomes available, we'll post it here.

Thank you.
