Webcam Choppy after Edit

Sep 18, 2012

In preparing a short demo course I chose to create a recording with my Webcam. Everything was great it worked well (preview mode). I decided to demonstrate the edit feature by adding a logo to the recording, saved & close with the change. Upon review the audio was out of synch and the video became choppy. So I chose the “reset video” ´to remove the edit and hopefully restore the quality to the original webcam recording. Logo was removed but audio/video no better. Perhaps this was a function of the review process, so I published the  short course ( 2 slides) to the Web including HTML5 output. On opening the published file the video is still choppy & out of synch with the Audio.

The recording is attached, can you please indicate what went wrong and a possible fix ( Clearly I can re-record the clip but why the change towards the negative?)

Good Morning Stephan, and welcome to Heroes!

It's hard to know for certain what caused the problem originally, but this is what I'd recommend doing from this point forward:

  1. Re-record the clip and save your .story file in working condition.
  2. Make edits to the recording, and save your .story file with a new name.

If the problem is absent, no need to troubleshoot further and we can chalk up the original problem as an anomaly.  However, if the problem recurs, you have a "before" and an "after" .story file to submit to our Support Team.

At that point, I would encourage you to submit a Support Case.  When you do so, please be certain to include a copy of both of your .story files.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!
