What are button sets for?

Jul 27, 2018

Hi,

I want to do something very basic - when I select a button, I want to deselect other buttons. I want to set their state back to Normal without having to add dozens of triggers. I thought that's what button sets are for but the documentation says absolutely nothing about what a button set is for, it just tells how to make one. In other words the documentation is useless.

https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360/articles/articulate-storyline-360-user-guide-how-to-work-with-button-sets#states

So here are my questions:

1) Is a button set a way of automatically de-selecting the other buttons in the set when a button is clicked?

2) If so, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

If you could just send a few steps along and not point to yet-another forum article or video I'd appreciate it.

Hi James

Q1 - Yes.  When you create a button set you highlight the buttons > Right click and select Button set.  The behaviour should be when you click button 1 it goes into it's selected state, if you click button 2, button 1 will be deselected and button 2 will be in selected state.

Q2. Here is a quick Peek video showing you how.

Hope that helps - shout out if you need more help or if you want to share a slide that you are having issues with just use the grey 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post.
