We have a new VP who does not like the word "Tutorial" for our free, short video... tutorials. I'm looking for suggestions. What would you call a free, educational 10-minute unit of information?
Depends how sticky your audience and stakeholders are about proper grammar You could get cute with ExplainCast, GuideCast, HelpCast. Or stick with something that describes what it is like "Video Guide", Task Resource, or How-To.
Hey, these are great! I'll pass them up the line. Personally, I'm drawn to "pods" because it sounds so Day of the Triffids. It really helps to have all your different viewpoints.
Feel free to join in with other ideas. And thank you, wonderful contributors!

Mini Lesson?
Thanks, Crystal!
It's not so much the length (mini) as the category (tutorial? Lesson? Demo?).
What would you call a free eLearning lesson if your VP didn't like the word "Tutorial"?
Learning Pods
Some suggestions:
Learnlets
Explainers
Primers
I think you should use term "FREEBIES" afterall you are providing these lessons free.
We have used the term Training Vignettes before.

Hi Marie,
Lots of good ideas here. Probably if "tutorial" is disliked, same will be true for "Instructional Video", but throwing it in the ring in case!
Playing on the "Steve-casts"...InfoCast
Playing on Pat's pod idea, which you liked, InfoPods. But, would people think pods were audio, as in podcasts?
