When are we going to have FULLY responsive courses in Storyline? Not just player

Feb 16, 2021

Yes I know Rise is fully responsive, and I mean FULL SCREEN, filling the entire screen, but you have to build interactions and then import them, it's so much easier to build in Storyline and publish, especially if you need to give a client the source file (which we you can not do in Rise).

I have done everything people have said, and it does NOT completely fill my screen.

  1. I have turned off all nav,
  2. Using Modern Player
  3. Turned off all controls etc
  4. Set the image to background for each slide

I still can't get it to completely fill my screen.

I recreated the same course in a different software platform and it's true full screen HTML5.  All controls are built into the screen, not running a player and looks amazing.

BUT, I have spent so much money on Articulate 360 and I want truly responsive design.

For my Storyline course, when I adjust the screen there are gaps at the top and bottom or smaller screens and for larger screens left and right gaps.

I have test in Web Dev tools to see responsive design and it's not.

WHY does articulate not give us the option of true HTML5 export without a player to mess with things.

Hi Mischelle,

It looks like you are aware of all of your options:

  • Rise 360 courses are fully responsive
  • The responsive player automatically displays when you view Storyline 360 and Studio 360 HTML5 courses on tablets and smartphones.
  • Responsive solutions from other providers requires course authors to tweak slides for every device learners use and our responsive player doesn’t require any extra work.

We do have an open feature request we are tracking specific to adding a full-screen toggle option, so I've added this conversation to the report. I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.

Hi Mischelle,

I have some great news to share! We just released a really cool feature that allows you to add a player toggle to let learners view courses in full-screen mode.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find step-by-step instructions here.
