Win 8 - Adobe Flash Plugin Error when playing video (sometimes)

Feb 12, 2013

Hi,

Anyone seen this one?

Never had before Win8....

Sometimes, just on one course I get this when trying to play video.

31 other videos in the course play fine in Preview and after publish, just seems to be 2 that kick this off.

Could do with some ideas as driving me mad

Thanks

Bruce

HI Bruce!

Oh no, not the sad Chrome! I haven't seen him in a while, but I have seen him before. I believe this happens when the Flash player in Chrome crashes. Have you checked for any updates for the plugin or downloaded one recently? Also, check to see if you have more than one instance of Flash installed for Chrome. I remember dealing with this ohh.. about a year ago? Turns out I had about 4 instances of the plugin listed.

If it seems to be happening with the same video, have you tested in Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Thanks!

Ahh, so sorry - not Chrome, Firefox (I tend to switch them around oh.. 5 times a day, or so). I use to work exclusively in Firefox, now I'm a Chrome addict.

Can you test in Chrome?

In Firefox, you should be able to find the plugin information through the Add-ons Manager, but getting there depends on what version you're using.

It'll look something like this:

Thanks - will try tomorrow.

Think I may have sorted this...

Due to a strange combinations cut and paste-based slide phenomena, I think my trigger was sending the browser to 2 x different versions of the video at once from the Hotspot, one on a layer, and one on a slide

I think it may have just been all browsers going "NOOOOOO! WTF!!!"

Anyway - seems to be working now (for the moment...), but will certainly check the browser tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Bruce
