Working story line with another LMS system. Results slide Button Triggers

Mar 05, 2015

I'm trying to set a button trigger on the results slide that will work with a clients system to close and record the quiz submission. I tried the exit trigger but it doesn't respond the results slide stays on. The comment I recieved from the client as to waht they need is noted below. Anyone have a suggestion?

I spoke to our online specialist, and they stated the we need the “package to close and record the quiz submission.” They also stated that many times their customer service team at Articulate can take your scorm package and upload it to a test environment and to check your settings. If it works in their test environment it will work on any scorm compatible training environment.

Looking back at your original post, you mentioned about having the "package close."  If it is running within an LMS, you may not be able to achieve this if it's playing directly in the platform (which I know for mine it does).  I believe there is an option in the publishing settings to have the package open up as a new window - but I haven't personally used this feature, so I'm not sure if you could put on the "exit" sort of functionality with that.

Going to the "submit results" trigger - yes, you do have it set properly there in the publish settings to transmit to the LMS.  But, you do need some sort of trigger that will tell the SCORM package to transmit the data.  I believe that there is a default trigger that does this "Submit results ___ Results Slide When the timeline starts" that is put onto the results slide when you add it.  But, if you don't have it, or if you would rather have users manually click on a button to submit their results, you can work the same functionality into a trigger that says "Submit Results ___ Results Slide when user clicks" and have that attached to a button.  If you're able to do the new window for the package too - you could have the same button have a trigger that "exits" as well - so it could be a button that says "Submit work and close."
