Hello to all, I need your help with Storyline. I have videos hosted on Youtube in my module. I added a hidden button in the initial state with a trigger to change the state to normal when the media playback ends. Problem my button does not appear. Storyline doesn't seem to detect the end of the Youtube video. Any idea why this is happening? Is this "When media playback ends" trigger compatible with videos from the internet?
We are currently tracking an issue where the 'when video completes' event does not work properly in a trigger when used with an online video. One complication with this setup is that since the video exists in a third-party hosting site, there is no way for Storyline 360 to know when an online video has ended. All Storyline 360 knows is that it is displaying an object inside an iframe, but it has no way to track if any media inside this iframe has completed playing.
One solution that we've found to work is to download a local copy of the videos, and add the videos from a file to your Storyline 360 course.
I was working with a similar situation. In my case, adding the video on a separate, otherwise empty layer (timed for the length of the video) and setting that layer to hide when the timeline completed worked. I did not need to enable a button at that point, but that might be one place to start thinking. :)
