Alternative scenario for multiple drag and drop items.
Dec 28, 2012
A variable is set to TRUE when the drag item is dropped correctly on the target area.
If the learner changes it to an incorrect state before hitting the submit button, the result will still be correct since the variable stays to TRUE.
Thomas Hollaender from Denmark triggered this scenario for me. Since it might be unlikely for a user to change to the incorrect state afterwards, it still can happen and therefore I developed other triggers, where the system test the state of the dropped item every time it the drag item has beeen (re)dropped.
Watch the screenr for the explanation: https://player.vimeo.com/video/204928692
Any alternative suggestions are welcome.

Wim -
Nice update to your holiday demo. I also liked the way you used Storyline as a presentation tool in your Screenr to demonstrate how you put the project together. I know that requires extra time to set up but it's a wonderful complement to an already helpful screencast.
@Wim - thanks for the really great Screenr - that helped a lot to understand all of the steps involved!
Hi Wim! These were great. I loved seeing the 2 different ways to execute. Thank you for taking the time to put together such a great "packet".
Thank you a million times.....
Went a step further and created two more states (Incorrect and Red) so that when the user clicks the Submit button for the Drag/Drop it checks each item, if state is Incorrect it changes that to Red. Thus when the user clicks Review Quiz button on the results page they can see the Red state glow for the incorrect items.
Great stuff! Thanks again for your dedication, time and sharing your wealth of knowledge.
Enjoy life,
Rhea
Thanks!! That solved the problem. Legend!
Brilliant - just what I was looking for.
Hi Wim,
Excellent idea - thank you for sharing!!!
Cheers,
Marta
Really excellent -- I'm working on some drag-and-drops today and this is good inspiration. It's good to see how the different ways drag-and-drops can be designed and implemented!
Hi Wim & Articulate Community,
This looks great and thanks for sharing your work. I have followed the instructions (https://player.vimeo.com/video/204928692) and tried to replicate in a course I'm working on. However, the only issue I keep having with it is that I receive the 'Invalid answer - you must complete the question before submitting' message - this displays even when all the answers are correct. When the learner clicks OK in this popup, the message clears and they get the Correct feedback but obviously I don't want the invalid answer message to appear at all and I'm not sure why it is.
Any idea why this might be happening? If anyone on the community has any ideas or suggestions on how to overcome this, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks, Clare
I have tried this, but could not figure out if in the second screen the original variables and triggers remain and you just added the new triggers or if you started with a clean slide and just did the new triggers. I could not get the second screen schema to work on its own :(.
Hello Wim! I'm hoping you can help me with this. I've set up my slide pretty much the way you have. I have 10 objects to place into 2 boxes (5 in each). It seems to work, except the Incorrect layer does not show when an object is placed incorrectly. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!
