Bringing interaction into a video course

Sep 22, 2015

Hello All-

New to the discussion world and I would like to ask if anyone can recommend how to bring interaction into a video.  I may be thinking backwards; maybe I need to bring the video into SL2 and add the interactions there???  Here is a link to a great little course that I would like to emulate...

Thank you all for your posting and expertise, a lot of us are watching, reading, and learning!

Hi Mark!

Holy moly - that's an intense course - I love it!

Yes, I'd cut up the video at appropriate 'interaction spots' and insert each video segment on a separate slide in SL2. Then, you can add simple text boxes with triggers attached to advance, jump to the appropriate slide, or whatever you'd like to do.

I hope this helps!

Keepin' the joy,
Patti

Hi Mark,

Great example. You've got a few options, you could set up triggers to pause the video at certain times, then show a layer with the interactive elements. You could do as Patti suggested and cut the video into more manageable pieces and insert the interactivities there too.

Check out this guide for some tips of how to start building something like this: https://community.articulate.com/articles/interactive-video-quizzes-storyline

Good luck and let us know how you go.
