I am trying to change the state of an object when someone clicks an object (basically, when they start a lesson) so that if they return to the dashboard before completing it, it will show the started state that I have created. The problem I am having is that if I set the trigger to go when they click the object, the state changes immediately and the user can see that right before it jumps to the lesson scene. I don't want them to see that until they go back to the dashboard. Suggestions?

create a custom state.
create a variable for each button (boolean) adjust the variable to true when user clicks button with trigger.
add trigger to change state on button when timeline starts on condition the variable is true
