Country Profiles With Rise
May 24, 2017
Hi all,
I am experimenting with new ways of displaying one of my organization's member only resources - our Country Profile Project. This project was created to provide our members with information regarding each profiled country's unique higher education landscape. Each profile currently contains a single landing page with 10+ additional HTML pages, each with a paragraph or two of information regarding a specific topic - cultural attributes, faculty models, higher education regulation, common degree programs, etc. Attached to this post is one of the profile's main landing pages.
With so many unique HTML pages, there is a lot of loading required by our users and it takes quite a bit to manage on the backend. I thought that Rise might provide a better solution. My thought was to create a Rise Course for each Country Profile. Alternatively, I could setup a single Rise Course with branching paths that directs users to the different Country Profiles. Either way, it would need to be hosted on my organization's own website, as we ideally wouldn't want to direct people away from the site.
I spoke with Peter with Articulate, and he recommended that I bring this question forward to the Articulate Community. Is Rise a possible solution for this? If not, is there another tool within the Articulate 360 package that you would recommend? And, how might you implement this?
Thanks for any and all feedback!
Elliot

If there is only a paragraph inside of each one you could create a single rise page with headings and accordion interactions, putting the text inside of each of those.
Something like this

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but could you not create a country portal on your website which then links out to individual Rise courses? This means they only load content for their country.
That isn't a bad idea. The issue is sometimes there are a few images and the like within sections. But, the accordion approach does look good.
So, do you mean make it so that when you click on say, Australia, you get a Rise course tailored to that country, similar to what Phil Mayor suggested above? I think that approach would work.
So, from the two comments thus far, is it fair to conclude that we'd want an individual Rise course for each country as opposed to building out an all-inclusive Rise course which included all countries?
You might also consider using a world map (or multiple maps - first for the continents, then for the individual countries you support) as a "labelled graphic" type and then branch from this to the associated Rise course :-). That might be more interesting than a simple "bullet list of countries", and potentially also more impressive - without a heavy load on loading content.
The labelled Graphic won't branch (you may be able to add hyperlinks). Individual courses may be a bit of a pain as you will get the start course screen for every course (The user may on see one though).

Yes Elliot. I'm also thinking from a web perspective. The more that needs to load for each person, the more bandwidth you will be using and the slower the course will be.
That looks terrific! Great idea. I think we have the perfect colors for such an approach, too. Thanks for the tip.
@Obat Gastrul,
I am a bit confused by your suggestion. Are you saying that I can have all of my countries linked to from within a single file? How do you do this?

I'd like to know the correct use of these phrase when used at the end of a message. Example: "... and all the help you've granted." Thanks all! /... regard jasa furniture bandung
