Double check list

Mar 28, 2017

My client wants to have the learners look at a list of symptoms and check the ones they are experiencing.  Then be presented with just those symptoms with another checklist.

I can't figure out how to do this. I tried one version with triggers and layers, but it seems like there are conflicting triggers.

Any thoughts on how to build such a thing?

Hi Cynthia

you could duplicate the list of symptoms on the layer and set their initial state via the 'edit states' tab to 'hidden'.  Then using variables for the ones that have been selected, set a trigger to change state of symptom 1 to normal when timeline starts on the layer on condition that symptom 1 variable is equal to true.

Here is a quick sample that may give you an idea

Wendy, that is super duper close. I just need a second check box to appear to the right of the selected symptoms in the layer. I know there must be a way I can display a check box with the logic "if first check box is checked then display second check box in layer."

But when I try to add the trigger within the layer I can't choose an object from the main slide.

Hi Cynthia

see updated file if I have understood your requirement. I had to fudge the checkbox on the layer to add a tick shape to the normal state.

If you can't choose an object from main slide you may have the option 'hide objects on base layer' checked on the layer

Hope this helps
