Double click hot spot not recognized

Feb 27, 2018

Some new users are having difficulty with a course that I built about 18 months ago (SL2). The course uses screen recordings to create a software simulation with hot spots to advance. In some instances, I used a single click for the hot spot; in others, it is a double click to mimic the actual software.

The course is deployed via our LMS and we have had few problems with it until this past week. The user is able to work through the single click hot spots but as soon as she gets to the first double click hot spot, she gets stuck. She is getting the Try Again feedback layer which is triggered when you click outside of the hot spot, so that tells me that the hot spot is not being recognized.

I am unable to replicate the problem when using Internet Explorer as the browser, however, I do see an issue when using Chrome. She has the issue regardless of browser. My testers (using IE) cannot replicate the problem either although she states that other co-workers are having the same issue.

I'm suspecting something about operating system or browser versions. Any ideas?

Hi Heidi,

Did you try uploading your course to SCORM Cloud to see if you experience the same behavior?

That's what we generally recommend doing to determine whether the problem stems from the course or the LMS. Here's an article that walks you through how to do that.

If it works correctly on SCORM Cloud, then the problem is coming from the LMS and you'll need to talk to your provider.

If you see the same issue on SCORM Cloud, then the problem is likely coming from the course itself. If that's the case, please reach out to our support team.
