Issue with Showing a Layer

Sep 06, 2016

Hi my fellow E-Learning Heroes!

I need your help! I'm almost done with my course, but this slide layer is preventing me from completing this project. I've attached the abbreviated version of the course below.

I created a softball activity that involves answering four questions. There is an avatar that is stationed at home plate when timeline starts. The learner must click through each numbered button sequentially to answer each question. Each question answered correctly will advance the avatar one base plate. The objective is to answer all questions correctly to bring the runner home, which triggers a slide layer showing the learner's success. If the learner is not successful in answering all four questions correctly, a "failure" layer is supposed to appear. I am able to get the "success" layer to show, but am having a hard time figuring out the correct setup to trigger the "failure" layer to show.

The "failure" layer will show, however, if the learner answers the fourth question correctly AND miss any of the previous questions; this is due to the triggers I have set up already, which I'm okay with so far.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi Janet, the variable has changed in your question 4 slide, so when participants click on continue button and go back to the main slide, the variable isn't changing in the slide and that's why your trigger doesn't work to show the failure layer.   Therefore, you should pull your trigger when timeline starts not variable changes.
