Linking Scores of Multiple Standalone Modules

Sep 13, 2022

Hello, I am creating multiple standalone quizzes that will be part of a larger curriculum.

I am trying to understand if there's a way to link the scores of these modules in a way that score of Quiz 1 is reflected in Quiz 2 and the final score of Quiz 2 is the sum of Quiz 1 and Quiz 2 scores, and so on.

I am not sure how I can use Rise or SL 360 to achieve this. Any suggestion is welcome!

TIA!

You can't combine the results of quizzes from separate Storyline files.

However, if all of the quizzes are in the same Storyline file, you can compile the scores.

This is done in the Quiz Settings Options for the Results slide.

You can get the results you asked for this way:

  • After Quiz 1, insert a Results slides that includes only those questions.
  • After Quiz 2, insert a Results slide that includes the questions from both quizzes.

  • Note: This method requires more complicated programming if you give the learner the chance to retake the quiz, because the questions aren't all adjacent.

Another option:

  • Set up each quiz with its own Results slide.
  • Insert another Results slide that scores the other Results slides.

  • Note the options for either scoring the results separately: either ensuring the learner passed each quiz or combining the points.
