Hi, I'm completly new in this field of digital training and I want to start creating e-learning courses for medical education. Right know I'm looking for a provider for stock photos and images who offers many pictures in the medical area (also human anatomy, disease etc) area. Especially, I'm interested in the emergency medical field.
I would also be greatful for some ideas how to bring some activity in the learning process of human anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Hi! My favorite site is freepik.com for stock images. I have found it to be one of the most cost effective for a paid subscription. They do have quite a bit available for free on the site too. I am not in the medical field but for ideas or templates, I would start in the downloads section here in Articulate. I have been in the same boat. Unfortunately I found that one has to pony up for it, Most quality medical, pharma and medtech stock photos are paywalled. I found very few free, and only a limited selection on some of the more popular stock image sites.
Hi NAWBerlin Team, I find sourcing stock can be super labor intensive so I do an initial search using a search engine to get an overall view of hundreds/thousands of images available for my needs/wants and then go to the sites listed in the image URLs I am interested in.
Wikimedia can be a good source for medical images—they list attribution for usage. There are also a slew of other sites that offer free images, vecteezy, pexels, pixabay..., however, one of the problems with 'free' is a fairly limited offering, so trying to maintain visual consistency in a long course is a thankless task.
If you have a budget. For a project I did the clients paid for the stock images, I ended up using a few different sites as not one site offered all I needed, the sites have monthly pricing plans: Shutterstock, Dreamstime, istock, Getty... There are also some specialized medical stock image sites depending on your needs, these images are graphic and detailed: e.g. https://www.medicalimages.com/ and https://www.medicalstockimages.net/ .
For medical Storyline templates there are some great ones in the downloads section as mentioned by Heather. Also suggest doing a global search for Medical Templates in Articulate, some examples are featured in 'Course Building' where the authors have also generously shared their source files in their posts so you can check out the back-end and how they built it. The ELH challenges are worth a look too, there are a ton of creative ideas that may offer inspiration for interactions and animations to use. https://community.articulate.com/series/elearning-challenges.
I agree with the Adobe Stock option. I do have a subscription but I always check to see if something will work in their free selection. I have specifically used it for medical images and videos that are free and been very pleased. Good luck!

Adobe Stocks has a good collection of images, illustrations, and videos. There are even thousands of free stocks available on Adobe Stocks.
Motionarray is another good but limited resource. The subscription is cheap compared to other premium stock subscriptions.

I'll add another recommendation for Adobe Stock too. I also have a subscription but their free library is quite extensive.
