Multi-step Interaction

Feb 02, 2016

I am on the learning curve of creating / designing e-Learning programs.  What does it mean to "design an interaction that’s multi-stepped"?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Michelle,

It sounds like you're describing an interaction that could be scenario based or at the very least that builds from a previous question.

For example, if you asked a series of questions based on how you get ready in the morning, it might go something like:

- What do you do first? Have a shower or brush your teeth?
- Now that you've showered, what will you wear? Casual or work clothes?
- You're dressed, what's for breakfast?

So each question builds on the last. This could be done with interactions, where something from the first interaction is carried into the next part.

Hope this helps.
