I am working with a client on elearning courses about infant/toddler/preschool programs. Most specifically, one module will be related to special needs children and another focused on homeless families.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of special image libraries or resources for images related to the above.
Images of homeless children aren't going to look any different than images of non-homeless children, as long as you avoid images of children in fancy kitchens and living rooms.
The larger stock photo libraries should also have images, but you have to search more. I did a course last year on inclusion of children with special needs in child care, and I found 90% of what I needed through Getty. It helps to try different search terms. Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cleft palate, autism, feeding tube, hearing aid, blind, assistive technology, and so on should give you some other results beyond just searching for "special needs."
