Offline windows based delivery with tracking

Jun 21, 2017

Hello

I am trying to figure out how to deliver training to remote locations in low and middle income countries.

We can load the content onto windows laptops when we are in an area with internet access. The laptops would then be used by workers in remote areas to do the training. However, we need to track all of the learner scores, completion, etc. This can be uploaded to an LMS when online again or be retrieved in a CSV or PDF file.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi Eric,

While Allison's suggestion of an LMS that supports offline is probably the most elegant solution (and I would second it), it may not be viable in your case....

If I understand your scenario, you may not have the ability to create unique user IDs remotely for each learner. That is generally how LMS tracking works.... each learner has a unique ID that they need to sign in with. If these are shared laptops with no internet access that could be an issue.

So you may want to explore the alternative of storing results in some sort of file to be uploaded later.  While this is not a standard feature of the Articulate tools, some enterprising folks have done work around this. It takes some coding skills so you may want to partner with an expert. In any case here is a thread that can give you a flavor for what's involved.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Bob
