Playing scorm via wi fi through iPad & articulate mobile player

Dec 07, 2016

I am attempting to play a scorm file through an iPad with a wi fi connection.

The playback is very poor, with a narration track & bacground music playing at different levels compared to desktop. Also the slides don't change at timings given in triggers to jump to next slide.

Can anyone offer explanations & solutions please for these issues ?

Hi Altan,

Is this Storyline?

I'm not sure about all of the products, but I have noticed in Storyline, the timing of imported media does not always coincide with the timing on the timeline. Also the timing during development previews and published content may change. I've found that when I need to time something to media, it is best to time it to when the media finishes playing, even if it means breaking up the media. Anything that needs to be timed with the media, I include in a single media file like a video.

Also, compared to a wired connection, Wifi at best, is very slow. In addition, depending on how many people are using your wifi channel, you may experience interruptions in your data stream. And this is true whether people are using your wifi hotspot, or someone else's hotspot on the same channel. (Yes, it is possible to have several hotspots using the same channel.)

The first thing I would verify, is does your content play correctly when you are not using a wifi connection? Is there anyway you can test your content on another device without using wifi? Next, if you have access to your wifi hotspot server, you might try a different channel. There are several, and I would try to find the channel that has the least amount of activity. Of course, that could change from day to day. Another thing you could check, is what wifi bands does your iPad support. Can you move it to the new 900MHZ wifi band? You will also need to check your wifi hotspot and see if it supports the new 900Mhz band. This new band has much less traffic and runs at higher speeds, so it may work better.

I realize that some of this is very techinical. If you have an IT guy familiar with wifi issues, he or she would be a really good resource to help you work this out.
