Protecting course on CD

May 27, 2011

Hello,

I am hoping someone may have had some experience with this.  We generally offer our Articulate designed courses thought our LMS.  However one of the agencies that purchased it from us wants to run it off the CD as some of their sites do not provide staff with internet access.  I don't have a problem providing them with the HTML version of the course, however I would like to copy protect the cd/dvd with it.  I know it is always possible to circumvent any of those measures, however considering my audience basic copy protection scheme would be sufficient.  Does anyone have any experience with any of those and care to recommend one or another?  Any help would be appreciated.

It might be possible to check against some info on the client machine... perhaps the computer's IP address or domain.

For example; you could ask your client for the name of their window domain... something like COMPANYNET. Then create a flash file that checks the network status of the computer... is the computer is on the COMPANYNET then the course proceeds, if not it displays a message.
