Saving Images on PPT slides as Pictures
Mar 07, 2012
I am running into a weird issue.
A client I am working with has provided me with many images they want used in a course in a PowerPoint file (so I am not provided with the original PNG, GIP, JPG, etc, but just a number of images on a PPT slide). I have been right-clicking on the images and using "Save as Picture".
What I am noticing is that when I insert the pictures into the correct slides, there is now a invisible box of a pixel or two around the image. This is a problem in that the client wants me to have an outline for each of the images, so there is now a space between the picture and the border.
I have a work around or cropping the image - but that is getting really tedious. Is there a better fix?
Thanks!

What format are the original pics? jpg, png? What are you saving them as?
Right click on the photos in PPT (before re-saving them) and check the formatting to make sure there isn't a line (even a transparent line) already there, or drop shadow, etc.
Great question Natalia - what I am realizing is that some seem to be from clipart, some are photos they take - but I have no clue what the original photograph might have been in. It does occur to both the clipart image as well as the photo. One thing I did learn is that if I just use the clipart, the transparent line doesn't seem to be there only if I have saved it as a picture...
Doug - thank you as well for your response - I have checked the formatting like you suggested, and it doesn't seem to make a difference... I had kind of wondered if there was some default that was automatically putting the line there whenever an image was inserted - but haven't found that to be the case...
OH - forgot to say that I have been saving them out as PNGs.
