Larry, Articulate doesn't work in that way. You can't attach the sound to the animation like you can in powerpoint. You have to do it by adding the sound to your audio track. Your best bet to do this is via a sound editor like audacity or sound forge or even Garageband where you can add the appropriate sound effect to a different layer/track and then export it out to a mono wav file.

Do you have an audio track on your slide already
You may be better importing the slide in articulate and sync the animation to the sound
