I have seen discussion threads dating 3-5 years back around the topic of speech to text software. Do you know of any tried and tested new or updated tools?
I have some mp4 files (30-90 minutes long) that I need to transcribe and then record a voice over for each of them within Articulate.
I had good success with the automatic captioning feature in YouTube. You can upload an .mp4 and have YouTube create a caption file for you. It's not perfect, especially with technical terms and acronyms, but it did save a lot of time.
Thank you Michael for your help, I tested it. It works well, it just provides the timing under each line which we will need to edit. But it is better than rewriting the content.

I would also recommend rev.com, which can transcribe for $1/ minute.

Thank you Christy for the recommendation, I'll definitely try it out for future use. For this particular project that maybe be out of budget.
