Allowing user to rewind on the seekbar
I know we have options when it comes to the user's ability to interact with the seekbar in Storyline 360, including deactivating the ability to rewind and fast forward the timeline during the first pass through a slide . Unfortunately, the functionality I need is not one of the options. I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to restrict the ability to fast forward on a slide while allowing the user to rewind if needed? I know some old posts on this topic said it could not be done. Didn't know if things have changed since then. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hi Rob,
Happy to help!
There isn't a built-in way to enable only the rewind button for the seekbar, but one workaround that you can do is to enable the conditional seekbar for your course. With this, the seekbar is locked the first time learners view the slide, but will have full access to the seekbar as soon as they complete it. You can read more about this here:

Hi Joe -- this was very helpful. Thanks! Is there also a way to keep the user from just clicking the Next button before the timeline has finished for the first time? I've been trying a couple of different experiments with Triggers and haven't been able to crack the code yet.
Hi David,
I'm happy to jump in; I appreciate the experiments with triggers that you've already done! I recommend using a combination of variables and triggers to keep the user from clicking the Next button before the timeline has finished for the first time. Please see the screenshots below for the suggested variable and triggers.
I've attached the sample Storyline project I used so you can look more closely at the variables and triggers and preview the course to see how it works.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the sample project!

Thanks Joe for the reply. I have used the features you discuss before on other projects. Unfortunately, it will not work with what I had planned for my current project. I will have to rethink my approach on delivering the content. Hoping to see the capability I am seeking in a not-too-distant update to Storyline 360. I did put in a feature request. But again, thanks for the suggestion.

I also would like to provide the user the ability to REW when viewing a video that is restricted from FF. This allows the user to view/listen to something they may have missed. Rise has this capability. I will put in a feature request as well.

Yes, this is what I'm looking for. I have a video I want users to watch, and when it ends, a Next button will appear.
The problem is the next button appears when the timeline ends (if I do it when the video ends then they can skip to the end of the video). BUT, I would still like the user to be able to rewind if needed....I just don't want the timeline to keep going. Because what's happening now with my peer review is the reviewer starts the video then leaves the screen to go do something else, when they come back, the Next button is there since the time on the timeline kept going, even though the video is paused.
