Articulate Review: Passwords Being Required
I'm using Articulate Review for the first time for my Articulate Presenter 360 course. Even though I have checked the box that allows people to enter comments without a password, when the reviewer clicks the comment box, she enters her email address, but then is asked for a password. The reviewer does not have any previous experience with Articulate, so does not have an existing Articulate account/password. What can I do?

I've only seen this when someone set a password on publishing.
I suggest you check your settings.
Good luck.

That is a great feature - is it available in Storyline 360? My client is concerned about having the course content out in cyberspace and would like all reviewers to log in with a password before commenting.
Hi Cindy,
If a user has an Articulate ID, they'll be required to log in with that to comment. If they try to not log in and list their email address and it's associated with an Articulate ID it'll also prompt them to log in.
Also, if you look at Les's image, above the password you'll also see an option to "allow users without Articulate IDs to comment" if that is selected, they'll still be prompted to share their email. This set up ensures there is no "Anonymous" commenting in Review.
Hi Cindy!
I created a quick video demo for you that explains how the commenting feature works in Articulate Review. Check it out here!
In summary, if someone says they're being asked to enter a password, that is because their email address was used to create an Articulate ID at one time in the past. That person can use the 'Forgot Password' link to retrieve their password, or they can try and use a different email address.
I hope that helps clear things up!

Hi! An error message appears (see document attached) telling to check the email address, though this person already has a profile in Review. Does any one could help to solve this? Thank you very much :)
Thanks for including the screenshot, Dominique! Was the user able to log in after clicking the verification link they received by email?
If so, they shouldn't run into that error again. Let me know what happened!

Hi !
Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, the user has found the verification link in her spams and has finally managed to log after clicking on this link.Dominique Pascal-François

I am also having the same issue. The password box is not checked. Allow users without Articulate ID is checked. They still need to put in a password. It was not like this before. Does this mean that now everyone must have a password?

My experience is that they do not. I was confused because I was testing the link on my computer at home and my work computer - in that case because I had signed in before with my Articulate ID on both computers, it was asking for my Articulate ID and password. So be sure you are testing it with a user/computer that has never used Articulate or E-Learning Heroes. Also, if you changed your setting on the Articulate file, reboot your computer and try again. Ultimately, I got the Review process to work with a large group of reviewers - it's great!

I do not need to provide a password. I can comment just fine. All the SMEs are asked to provide passwords. This stops the whole process.

Bummer - not sure of the answer. Maybe the Articulate staff can help.

Hey LaVon! So sorry your SME's are running into that problem.
Could you take a look at the video I recorded for you in this thread? We can keep the conversation going over there, if you'd like!

Hello,
I've been running into the same issues described above: several SME's are being prompted to enter their password in order to leave comments. The "Allow users without Articulate IDs to comment" is selected. I've viewed the video you posted earlier in this thread- we have been using Articulate Review since it was released.
This only seems to be an issue for SMEs that have reviewed courses in the past. Clearly they must have set up Articulate IDs before, although neither has an Articulate licence. One SME attempted to recover her password, but a password reset email never came. My question is: is there a way to delete articulate IDs associated with an email address? These Articulate IDs are not connected to any product licence so there is really no need for them, and I think it would be much easier for these SMEs to not have to track down or enter a password in the future in order to leave comments and simply type their email and go.
