Auto play audio in Rise?
Is it possible to make an audio clip auto play in Rise? And if so, how can I do this?

It is not very accessible to not have autoplay as a feature... clicking can be a chore for some with disabilities...

I have also been on the list to request an auto play feature option in Rise. Perhaps a little help for the Rise Engineers to nudge this along...
The use case in my world of ISD would be to use a continue button as a divider that would be set to not enable until the content above is completed (Playing or Interactivity). When the continue divider button enables or allows the learner to advance, clicking on it would bring in the next topic and trigger the auto-play as required. This trigger can be optional and configured by me.
But I do believe that it must be tied to a continue divider button. Otherwise as the Learner scrolls through the lesson, the media either has no way of triggering to auto start, or they will all start playing at the same time.
My Two Cents from 20+ years of ISD experience....

I disagree with autoplay being tied to continue divider. This would be to restrictive. I am creating multiple rise projects that do not require divider, but I definitely want audio to start automatically when they scroll into the topic.

I think it will be nice to have an option to have the autoplay either throughout the project or on the divider. Personally, I really need a divider, because like Ken said - my users will just scroll all the way down without listening to the presentation.

I agree. Auto play of audio would help my trainings

When will audio autoplay be available in Rise 360 - there is overwhelming support for this functionality? Thanks

Has there been any progress on enabling Auto Play in Rise 360?

If video auto-plays (as it does), audio needs to match it. It makes no sense at all that our video is playing automatically, but our audio won't start until the user clicks. We spent an incredible amount of time and effort timing everything perfectly in Storyline...

Well I'm guessing this is out of the question now with Chrome/Edge autoplay policies changing to block many autoplay situations?
If so, is there any way to make the audio player more distinct so it is easier to identify? It is just so easy to pass it right by and never notice that its there.

I have found a solution to have the audio played automatically within Rise. The audio plays automatically when the storyline block loads/appears onscreen. I am using text-to-speech, and then I create a trigger for the audio to start at the beginning of the timeline. I have reviewed it, and it works perfectly! This does require you to import your storyline block into Rise.

Good tip, yes it does work, however it significantly disrupts the Rise layout if you want to use the block for audio only.

Yes, I agree, I have started to use storyline blocks when audio is needed. This takes a little more time due to needing to convert the RISE block to the Storyline. It allows the course to become more dynamic.
I have also become a little more creative with adding audio to the imported storyline block, but it aligns with another block later in the course, so from the learner's experience, they may have a seamless experience.

If an autoplay audio/narration feature was added to Rise in the future perhaps this could be set to Disabled as a default to get around the current policy?
