Blocks not loading when Rise course is viewed

Hi, I'm having a problem with a project I'm working on.
There are some problematic blocks which refuse to load for some reason.

For instance, there should be a question here (screenshot taken from the "preview" section in the Rise editor.

There is no media to load in the block - just a standard text question, as seen below:

This happens with other blocks too - my client has noticed it happening when loading certain images. We assumed that it was perhaps down to a loading issue on either his connection, or my hosting - but now that it's happening in the Rise editor, it seems that something is happening that I can't explain.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi everyone,

I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update fixes the issue you encountered:

    • Fixed: Some blocks were disappearing when users scrolled rapidly.

There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.

Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the issue you reported.

  • Hi plocke,

    I'm happy to help!

RonPrice brought up a great point. Have you tried using one of our supported browsers and clearing your browser cache? It's interesting that this is happening in both edit mode and the published output. You may want to check with your IT team that the domains listed here are accessible on port 443, which is necessary for the Articulate 360 apps to work properly.

If the issue persists, it'd be helpful to learn if this is happening with one specific course or multiple courses. If you're comfortable sharing a copy of your course, we'd be happy to test it on our end as well. Our talented Support Engineers can be reached through a support case, and are always ready to troubleshoot!

Hey! Thanks for the reply - you too, RonPrice !

I'm using Firefox. Afraid I'm not sure 100% what browser my client is using - possibly Safari, as I think he's a Mac user.

I'll try clearing my cache next time I'm at work (tomorrow) - but the problem isn't only on my end, the client is having it too. I already recommended that he clear his cache but it didn't resolve the issue for him.

I'm working from home, so no domains are being blocked through my router.

It happens with a few courses that I'm building for him - so far we haven't been able to identify why!

      • Hi plocke!

Great to see Kelly and Ron have been helping you!

Thanks for sharing the feedback. As I mentioned to MeaganMartini, we have this behavior logged as a bug in Rise 360 - Microlearnings. This bug causes some Blocks and interactions to disappear randomly. Since the behavior is widespread across your team, I've included your voice in the bug report as well.

We'll be sure to notify you as soon as a fix is ready. Thank you for your patience!

  • My team has been experiencing the same thing. We have noticed it happening to continue buttons, Storyline blocks, the interactive marker block, and list text block. The issue has occurred in Review, preview mode, and in the published version in our LMS over different Wi-Fi connections, different devices, and different browsers, even after clearing the cache.

I do currently have an open ticket with support, but wanted to add in my experience with, what sounds like, the same issue.

      Hi MeaganMartini!

Sorry to hear that content from your Rise 360 course has been disappearing as well!

Great move on opening a support case. I see that you've connected with my colleague, Enelluar. As he shared, we have this behavior logged as a bug in Rise 360. This bug affects Rise 360 Microlearnings, and causes some Blocks and interactions to disappear randomly.

We've included your voice in the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is in place. I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!

  • I've started a few things recently. Today, Note text statement blocks are not displaying when previewing a course. Also I'm sure various images are taking longer to load, a little bit like the old days with interlaced gifs. I've not needed to republish anything to know if the issue occurs in the LMS. (Chrome Browser, not tried Edge)

      Hi HVfb0f498d-053b!

Sorry to hear that you've also been impacted by this issue!

I've included your voice in the bug report being tracked, for disappearing content in Rise 360 - Microlearnings. We'll be sure to update you as soon as we have news to share!

        Hi Steven

I am also having this issue. Do you happen to know if we have a timeline for a fix? I have a deadline and need to know if I need to convert to a regular rise course or not.

        Thanks!

    Hey all!

I'm curious to see if anybody else is still experiencing issues with the blocks loading. We are still seeing it in Preview, Review, and when published to our LMS. We have republished the course, and even tried replacing the blocks that seem to be affected by it, in addition to all of the standard problem solving things (different browsers, different users, different internets, clearing cache).

We are also seeing where continue buttons are not flipping to continue, even when all necessary actions are completed; however, scrolling up quite a bit and scrolling back down will trigger the change. I'm mentioning this because it feels connected since the solution referenced scrolling too quickly caused the issue.

Hoping there are some other tricks we can try before reopening a support ticket!

      Hi MeaganMartini!

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble with Blocks loading in Rise 360!

I see that you had previously been working with my colleague Enelluar, through a support case. I've updated your case with the feedback you've just shared.

Enelluar should be reconnecting with you via e-mail shortly!

  • We are also having many issues with blocks not loading, seemingly more custom blocks than others, but it has been happening with all kinds. In the past 2 days, I've had 4 reported to me from high-profile courses in our LMS. I rebuilt all the custom blocks into traditional blocks, which was such a shame. Thanks for the tip on scrolling.

      Hi CindyHaddad-5a6!

Sorry to hear you're also experiencing issues with Blocks loading in Rise 360!

I noticed that you've already opened a support case being handled by my teammate, Robert. It looks like he replied to your e-mail sharing insight and troubleshooting steps to try.

We can continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot.

How is this marked as "Solved"? I've been having the same issue for weeks, worse in fact, and there has been nothing but a weekly email claiming that they're working on it. The preview isn't even functional on iOS.
