Closed captions not showing in RISE

Hi,

I've added the .vtt file to a video in RISE but the closed captions aren't showing when I select to turn them on. I've tried switching on in edit and preview mode, both neither work. Any ideas?

  • Hi Digital1Digital!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with closed captioning in Rise 360!

Do you mind sharing your video and .VTT file with us so we can troubleshoot and see what's happening? You can upload those items here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

We'll let you know as soon as we receive it!

Hi there - I am experiencing this same issue. I followed many of the other threads and followed the protocol and yet it still isn't working for me. I see it is not working for a lot of people.. hoping for some assistance.

  • Any updates on closed captions (CC)? I've added .VTT files in Rise, and they appear correctly in edit mode. However, when I publish the module, the CC option doesn't show up. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

      Hello prachikapadia,

      Happy to help!

Interestingly, your closed captions work in edit mode but not when your course is published. Have you tried testing your course in SCORM Cloud or Review 360 to isolate if the behavior is specific to where you are hosting your published courses? You'll also want to ensure your *.VTT files are in the proper format, though I suspect they already are since they display correctly in preview mode. If you can replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud or Review 360, please open a case with our support team here so we can request a copy of your course for testing. We'll delete it after our investigation!
