Text in text box seems to be invisible
Has anyone encountered this weird issue? What did you do to fix it?
I started a new project in 360 and added a textbox to the slide but I can't see the text. What I type is showing up in the timeline and when I show it in preview but in the normal development view I can't see any of it. This only seems to be happening in any new project I start. In existing projects I can see previous boxes just fine AND I can added new text boxes just fine.
I have put a ticket in with Articulate but so far they can't figure out what is going on. I tried the solutions (uninstall 360 and reinstall, bring DPI on text down) they suggested but nothing seems to work. They are in contact with my desktop people.
And it's only happening with my copy. When I share the file everyone else can see everything just fine. I posted two images of what I see.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone!
I have great news to share! We are no longer seeing this bug where text gets cut off or disappears when tabbing in Edit Mode within our latest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.72.29699.0).
Please let us know if you’re still noticing the issue and we’ll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you in a support case.

It also doesn't help that I have limited control of my computer (no admin rights). I have to go through desktop to get help.

Solution! Connected to the "modern text" feature, which is a new feature.
Go to Design > Fonts and disable the "Use modern texts" option.
Thank you Articulate and John Say!
Thanks Joanna for the update, and I'm glad John was able to help you figure this out!

I'm having the same issue with trials of Storyline 3 and Storyline 360. Thanks for posting the answer - this fixed it for storyline 360. Will try it tomorrow on storyline 3. (Wish I'd found it earlier in the day!)
Sorry you've run into this too, Martha! It's something our team is taking a look at. In the files where I have seen it happen typically toggling modern text off and back on again allows the text to reappear. But we'll keep you posted here when we get to the bottom of this issue!
Hi Joanna and Martha,
Our team identified the issue folks were running into where that modern text would become invisible in the Storyline editor, but would still show when previewed or published. We've implemented a fix in the latest update of Storyline 360.
Take a look at the release notes here for some more detail and you can update by launching the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline. Details here.
Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

I deselected Modern Text and it worked!! Thank you. I have been struggling with this for weeks. Wish I came here sooner!!
Hi Linda and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Glad that you were able to find a workaround for the issue that you were seeing.
We just released an update as well that you may want to take advantage of so that you do not have to use that workaround and can use Modern Text if you wish.

Hi Philip,
I haven't seen or heard any reports of this reappearing, but I'd be glad to take a look at your file and test it out. Also, we're now on Storyline 360, build 3.22.17236.0 so you may want to look at updating as well.
Can you also let me know if you're seeing this while editing or in the preview/publish of your Storyline file?
