Articulate courseware not notifying user of SCORM 101 error

Jul 12, 2023

Hi there,

We have some Articulate Rise content running on our LMS. The client has stipulated an auto-logout setting of 2 hours (i.e. 2 hours of inactivity) due to the nature of their environment where staff have to leave their workstations periodically for emergencies. On our LMS, as soon as the user tries to do anything after this 2 hours, they are informed that they are logged out and asked to log back in. Sometimes, users will have launched the Articulate Rise SCORM courseware before leaving - which opens in a new window 'above' the LMS - and leave it open while they're away. When they return more than 2 hours later and resume the courseware (since it's the first thing they see) our LMS will respond to subsequent SCORM data posts with ERROR_CODE=101 since they are logged out. But the Articulate Rise content is completely ignoring this error code and letting the user just keep progressing. It causes confusion when they can get all the way to the end, pass any quizes etc and are told they're completed, but our LMS doesn't record any of it because we've been trying to tell the Rise courseware "Uh, uh ... there's an error".

Is there some setting I can tell the content authors about which they may not know of?

Thanks,

Brett.
