Issue with encoding in Rise - UTF-8Y
Nov 03, 2021
Hi,
I have a question/concern regarding a Rise course which is currently being translated. There seems to be an issue with the encoding of the file (currently set to UTF-8Y, while some of our other course files are encoded as Cp1252), causing punctuation marks such as curly quotation marks to not show up correctly (e.g. they show up as ‘ rather than “). This causes issues with our translation vendor's translation memory and it may cause these punctuation marks to not show up correctly in the final translated products.
Can you please let us know how we can export the Rise course into Cp1252 rather than UTF-8Y?
Thanks,
Margarida

Hi Margarida! Rise XLIFF/XLF files follow the 8-bit Unicode Transformation Format (UTF-8) standard for formatting languages. Rise can't be exported to Cp1252, but we'll log this in as a feature request and let you know if we make changes that will help!
