Problem uploading articulate course to LMS : May contain malicious scripts

Jul 05, 2022

We are trying to upload a course created in Articulate to our Litmos LMS system.

On upload an error appears about it' External content may contain malicious scripts.'  (we have tried duplicating, retrying, disabled all Anti virus on desktops etc..) Still the issue happens.

After upload, when processing we get the error: A communication error has occured, we have been notified and are looking into the error.mscorlib illegal characters in path.

We have successfully uploaded many courses previously and even a copy of this course in another language (this one is in English)

Appreciate any suggestions of things we could do now to troubleshoot this.

Hi there, Mother's Choice!

Sorry to hear that you're getting errors when uploading your course to Litmos LMS.

I would suggest troubleshooting your file in SCORM Cloud to check if the behavior is the same. SCORM Cloud is an industry-standard testing engine that's free and supports AICC, SCORM, Tin Can API (xAPI), and cmi5 content.

This video tutorial demonstrates how to use SCORM Cloud with Articulate content.

You'll also find some helpful LMS-troubleshooting tips here.

If your course works properly in SCORM Cloud but not in your LMS, kindly share your SCORM Cloud findings with Litmos to troubleshoot the issue.

If the course encounters the same issues in SCORM Cloud, open a case with us here so that we can investigate.
