Storyline assessment in Rise

Jan 26, 2024

I have built an assessment in Storyline and have inserted it into a Rise course. The user has three attempts to pass the assessment. If they do not pass, they will select the Retry button and attempt again. However, the problem is that the "Continue button" becomes active in Rise after the finish the first attempt whether they pass it or not. So, the learner could potentially move ahead and exit the course without actually passing the assessment. Is there a solution to this?

It sounds like tracking is set to mark the SL as done when the user finishes the quiz. The program sees the quiz as done as soon as the user reaches the Results slide.

Instead, use a "Complete course" trigger for tracking.

  • Add a "Complete course" trigger on the Success layer that runs when the layer's timeline starts.
  • If you want folks to be able to continue even if they fail the quiz 3 times, you'll need to track the attempts with a numeric variable. You'll also need a "Complete course" trigger on the Failure layer that has a condition so it only runs if the variable =3.

Note: When you publish the SL file to Review 360, be sure to indicate that it should be tracked via triggers (not by viewing slides or by finishing the quiz).
