Trouble exporting larger course to PDF

We have a course that is erroring out when we try to export it to a PDF. It exports fine as a Tin Can export, but when we try to export it as a PDF, it times out and gives an error: "Something went wrong There was an error exporting your course. Please try again."

We can export smaller courses to pdf, but not larger.

Hi Pat,
We have one very large course that will not publish to PDF. For reference, in Word doc format it's close to 1000 pages.

This is an issue that goes back quite a long time.
We opened a case a year or two ago (Case #02085903), and there was no resolution: "our Rise engineers determined that the amount of content in the course is causing the PDF export operation to fail."
