What type of processing does Rise do to videos

Mar 30, 2021

Is there any transcoding taking place?  I usually specifically encode my videos for most efficient size/bandwidth for streaming.  If Rise is already doing this, than I'd prefer not to waste time / cycles on encoding ahead of time.

Hi, Mike! We talk more about media best practices here:

Rise 360 compresses videos so they have smaller file sizes while maintaining quality, converting videos to H.264 video and AAC audio in MP4 containers.

Some folks choose to host their videos externally so they can have more control over the format and player. If you do that, you can add your video with an embed block. I hope that helps!
