Working with xliff

Feb 14, 2022

Hi,

I am for the 1st time using xliff documents for translating a course.

When I put a German course file into my translation software (trados), it shows automatically that the file is coded as us-amerikan text.

Any idea which mistake I make?

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks in advance

Birgit

Hi Birgit, open the xliff with an editor and search for "source-language=". I guess it says "en-EN". Edit this little text to "de-DE", save it and import it to your software again.

It may be that the language code is also more often in the xliff but only in the upper area. Then you have to change it in the other places as well.
