Application won't launch - please help!

Hello everyone!

I'm at my wits end and hope someone can shed some light.  I installed Articulate Studio '13 and when I'm in Powerpoint and ready to preview or publish, the application doesn't activate from the Articulate Tab.  I work at a Pharmaceutical firm so I work on an encrypted computer.  I did get help from our Help Desk team in which they (reluctantly) gave me Admin rights and reinstalled Articulate.  This seemed to work temporarily but when I updated Articulate Presenter due to recent bug fixes, I'm back at square one.  Application doesn't launch within PPT.  SO frustrating!!!

Please help, anyone!

Sorry to hear about the trouble! Hopefully we'll be able to get this all resolved for you quickly.

Just to confirm - you still have administrative rights on the machine, correct?

Also, what version of PowerPoint/Office are you using? Are you using the 32-bit installation?

If you're using the 32-bit installation of a supported version of Office, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article:

The Articulate Tab on the PowerPoint Ribbon Is Missing

(This should also resolve an unresponsive Articulate Ribbon)

Also, please make sure that you're working with local project files:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. 
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
