Articulate '13 Presenter IPC Handler Access is Denied when loading

Sep 20, 2014

Hello,

I have followed the recommendations from this post:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter-13/articulate-presenter-ipc-handler-could-not-be-loaded

to resolve the following error when loading the IPC Handler:

But alas, no luck! I have tried re-installing. Installing the VSTO and Interlop libraries and even downgraded to Powerpoint 2010 and tried the process over again. Still get this error when trying to load the COM add-in. Below you will see proof of install and Powerpoint version:

Any advice on where to go next?

Thank you,

Tom

Guess I should have mentioned I am the IT Director using Melissa's login.

Anyways, I solved this problem on the Windows 8 workstation by running Powerpoint as Administrator rather than the user so the IPC Handler Add-Ins would load. I have found that I have to run Powerpoint 2010/2013 as Administrator each time to get the add-in to work.

If anyone else experiences this problem and would like to have their Windows workstation run as Administrator every time just follow the directions in this post:

I am part of the IT support and have full admin rights on the PC. This issue originally started with Articulate not working with flash player 16. I installed version 5 to fix the flash issue and stated getting the IPC handler error, When trying to open Articulate with PowerPoint, the user gets IPC plugin not found. I cannot get the plug in to add in PowerPoint, and when I try to install the Articulate. Presenter.IPC.vsto I get the access denied error shown at the top of the thread.  Just stuck at why access is denied

Hi all,

Our IT at Lockheed finally figured a way to get it to work at our company after spending hours troubleshooting.

They discovered our anti-virus software was blocking the add-in.  Once they 'allowed' the add in, I had to go back  into PPT and go to FIle>Options>Add-Ins>Go>select the IPC Handler Add-In and click OK.  Once I did that, I immediately shut down and turned my machine back on and it's been working since.

I am attaching an article that our IT discovered that ultimately allowed the add-in to work with our anti-virus software.

Thanks!

Joy
