ERROR: Could not load the file 'presentation_content/data.xml
May 12, 2015
Yesterday, I received a Presenter file from a colleague. I can open it fine, but when I try to publish or preview I get the error message. "ERROR: Could not load the file 'presentation_content/data.xml". When I try to import into Storyline 2, I can but when I publish or preview I get the "We're sorry something went wrong...." message. Stranger still:
1) Although my colleague was able to successfully produce the file, when she tries to preview she gets the same error message
2) All my existing presenter and Storyline files work fine
3) I sent the presenter files to a consultant and she was able to play them fine and was able to import into SL2 without a problem. I asked her to send me the SL2 file, but I got the same error message as above.
Any ideas? I would be happy to upload the presenter files and/or the storyline file if that would help diagnose.
Thanks,
-Ed

Hi, Edward - Sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing! Could you please check out this information on the Recommended Workflow for Collaborative Network Environments? If issues persist, please feel free to upload the Presenter and Storyline files here so we can take a closer look for you.

Hi, Edward - I previewed and published your Presenter file and had no issues, and also imported the PowerPoint into SL2, and again all was well, so here are some things I would like you to try to rule out some common issues: Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline to address erratic behavior.
OK, thanks for taking the time to investigate. -Ed
Sure thing, Edward. :)
